Lamplight Lodge · Chartered 1947
Come to dinner. See for yourself.
We are teachers, tradesmen and retirees who meet twice a month, eat together, and work at becoming better men. Nobody will pressure you. Nothing about who we are is hidden.
Who we are
A lodge for ordinary men who want to improve.
Lamplight Lodge has met in this town since 1947. We believe a man can be improved, and that the work is best done in the company of others who want the same thing.
A typical meeting is ordinary. We read the minutes, pay the bills, vote on a charity request, make announcements, and then everyone eats and goes home. The dinners are where most of the friendships get made.

Plain answers
Questions people ask us
Is it secret?
No. What we discuss at dinner and how we vote on charity are private, the way a family's conversations are private. Nothing about who we are or that we meet is hidden.
Can anyone just visit?
Yes. Anyone curious is welcome at dinner. No invitation is needed. Reach out ahead of time so we know to expect you.
How do I become a member?
Start by coming to dinner and meeting the members. If you decide you want to know more, the Secretary will walk you through what joining involves. There is no pressure at any step.
What do members do together?
We eat, we talk, we raise money for local charities, and we help each other. The dinners and the charity work are what most members remember.
Do I have to be a certain religion?
You need to believe in a higher power. Beyond that, we don't ask what you call it or where you worship.
